The Newfoundland Growlers basketball team have signed a 6’9″ center for the upcoming inaugural season.
Chris Obekpa, from Nigeria, turned pro in 2016, playing for the Golden State Warriors G League affiliate the Santa Cruz Warriors.
Obekpa previously played full-time in Turkey, as well as the Basketball Africa League.
During his time in the NCAA, he led the league in blocks, averaging four a game.

In 2016 the 6’9 centre was a member of the @GLeagueWarriors. Currently, he is playing for the S.L.A.C in Ligue 1 of @theBAL averaging 13.0 pts, 11.8 reb & 2.6 blks per game.
