The City of Corner Brook is ramping up for a series of Come Home Year Community Clean Ups through the month of May.
Residents and groups are being encouraged to fill up a garbage bag or two, or trash that has accumulated over the winter and spring and leave it near the roadway for pickup by city staff.
Those involved are invited to call the city to be entered for a chance to win one of several cash prizes.
Each bag picked up is a separate entry into a random draw with prizes ranging from $100 dollars to $500 dollars.
The city has been divided into several areas.
Meanwhile, May 2nd to the 6th and May 9th to the 13th have been designated for spring-time household cleanup.
Areas for Community Cleanup:
1. Downtown (West, Park, Main, Broadway)
2. Waterfront (Including railbed trails)
3. Curling
