Police in the metro region had a busy 48 hours heading into the long weekend, charging a number of people with impaired driving.
Around 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, the RNC responded to a report of an impaired driver in the Topsail Road area.
They charged a 56-year-old woman with impaired.
Police received another call around supper time, and after responding to the Kenmount Road area, charged a 39-year-old man with the same offence.
On Good Friday, police picked up another three drunk drivers.
The first, after an officer witnessed a single-vehicle collision on Military Road in the early morning hours.
The 29-year-old driver was the lone occupant and was uninjured.
That afternoon, a 67-year-old woman was charged following a traffic safety stop on Elizabeth Avenue.
A short time later, a 43-year-old man was stopped on Pitts Memorial Drive.
All charged had their vehicles seized and were released to appear in court.
