The province’s Chief Medical Officer of Health believes Newfoundland and Labrador’s COVID curve is ahead of the rest of the country.
For much of the pandemic, our trends seemed to be lagging behind the rest of the country by a couple of weeks.
However, Dr. Janice Fitzgerald doesn’t believe that is still the case at this time, owing current trends to this province opening up more than some of the rest of the country.
She says the province’s numbers have been steadily climbing over the last month or so, but it has been a controlled climb where the numbers aren’t doubling in an “unreasonable” amount of time.
She believes that we have already seen what Ontario is experiencing now, just in a slightly different way.
