Newfoundland and Labrador’s culinary scene will be on display once again on the Food Network, as Mallard Cottage is set to be featured on the Big Food Bucket List show.
Host John Catucci says the show likes to focus on restaurants that offer unique dishes and experiences.
He says Mallard Cottage, which is located in Quidi Vidi Village, makes it “worth the trip.”
Then, he says owner Todd Perrin cooks all his meat in an outdoor pit, the smell from which fills the village.
He calls it a great experience.
In general, Catucci says the province “definitely” has a culinary reputation.
He points to “farm to table” work going on here.
They went to the Grounds Café in Portugal Cove, which he says is a working farm.
He says to get harvest to plate in minutes is something he has never seen before.
Here we go! Season premiere of #BigFoodBucketList on @FoodNetworkCA starts now!
