A 40-year-old man has been arrested in connection with two robberies in downtown St. John’s yesterday.
Shortly after 9 a.m. police responded to reports of a robbery at a business on George Street West. They say the suspect uttered threats and demanded cash, but fled on foot without any money.
About 15 minutes later, police received a report of a second robbery, this time on Water Street. Once again, a man made threats and demanded money. He fled on foot with some cash.
A short time later the man was arrested without incident.
The man was charged with robbery in connection to each incident and was held for court.
