A Newfoundlander who ran with the Elite women was among Canada’s top runners at the historic Boston Marathon on Monday.
Former Tely Ten record-holder Kate Bazely was among Canada’s top female finishers in 24th place, crossing the line with a time of 2:38:26.
The seasoned runner admits it was a tough race.
“This is the most sore I’ve ever been,” she remarks, “I can barely walk.”
Bazely calls the Boston Marathon one of the most amazing races she has ever run.
She says the crowds were amazing. There wasn’t one single point along the full 42 km course where there weren’t crowds cheering. She says people play music along the course which is run largely through neighbourhoods. She calls it beautiful. “I just loved it” she says.
