Charges have been laid against two Nova Scotia-based companies in connection with a workplace accident that sent one person to hospital with serious injuries.
Occupational Health and Safety says Hurricane Industrial Equipment Incorporated and Blue Water Agencies Limited are each facing charges in connection with the incident in CBS in July of 2020.
Hurricane is charged with two violations of the Occupational Health and Safety Act including its failure to provide a safe workplace, and failure to ensure that safe work procedures were followed.
Blue Water Agencies, the principal contractor, is also facing two charges including failure to ensure that employers and workers comply with OHS regulations and failure to ensure that its OHS Program was implemented by contractors.
The companies are scheduled to appear in court on May 16.
