The City of St. John’s is looking for public feedback on improvements for transportation and safety along Canada Drive.
Currently, the street is quite wide and acts as a main thoroughfare through the Cowan Heights area.
The city is considering two different options.
For the first option, one side of the road will have a sidewalk and a shared-use bike path, while the other side of the road will have a sidewalk and on-street parking.
For the second option, one side will have a shared-use path with no sidewalk and on street parking, while the other side will have a sidewalk and on street parking.
Ward Councillor Jamie Korab says the project will improve connectivity for people of all ages while improving road safety as lanes will be narrower.
Feedback can be submitted via Engage St. John’s , by email, by calling the city directly at 311, or by attending a virtual meeting on May 12.
