The alleged victim of sexual assault at the hands of Stephen Hopkins has concluded her testimony.
The young woman, now 18, described today, for the first time publicly, how she says Hopkins attacked her in her Cowan Heights home in September of 2020.
A lawyer appointed by the court to cross-examine her did note some inconsistencies between her testimony today and the statement she provided shortly after the incident.
She attributed that to the shock of what happened and the passage of time.
Hopkins is now his own lawyer for the rest of the trial, with a real one hand to help guide him with the process, but not provide legal advice.
Police officers are now testifying as to how they responded to the incident that day.
The trial is expected to last two weeks.
