Hundreds of people flocked to Middle Cove Beach over the weekend to get a look at a walrus that came ashore.
The creature was first spotted on the beach, basking in the sun on Saturday morning.
It had no intention of leaving, however, staying on the beach all day Saturday and into Sunday.

Crowds of people turned out to see the walrus, with cars lining Marine Drive in a manner usually only seen when the capelin begin rolling.
Wildlife officers were on site as people came by for a look, marking off a perimeter to make sure people maintained a safe distance from the animal.
The walrus made its way back into the ocean just before suppertime yesterday.
