Construction on that pump track next to the dog park in Quidi Vidi starts this week so that green space will be fenced off with no public access to the area during the project. Heavy equipment will require occasional access to The Boulevard. Public access will be maintained to the dog park, walking trail and parking areas.
Pump tracks provide recreation opportunities and are used to develop biking and riding skills for people of all ages and abilities. They are suitable for scooters, skateboards and wheelchairs.
The project, which should be completed in mid-July, was first announced last year as a community-led initiative with the Avalon Mountain Bike Association.
