Firefighters battled two fires on the Avalon on Wednesday
Firefighters were called out to deal with a brush fire burning in the area of the Frog Marsh in Brigus that had engulfed a home in flames.
The fire spread to the nearby woods, where there was a recreational property in the immediate area and some houses nearby.
A water bomber was called in to deal with the blaze.
Meanwhile, residents of Harbour Drive in Harbour Main had to be evacuated due to a grass fire in the town.
