The Crown is opposing the release of a man facing 45 serious weapons charges following an incident in the Goulds last week.
26-year-old Liam Bulter was arrested after reports of a possible kidnapping, at gunpoint, on Durdle Drive.
It’s alleged to have occurred around lunchtime on May 4.
Police believe the suspect, with gun in hand, went into a home and forced a woman, who he knew, into a vehicle and drove off. It wasn’t until about six hours later that police found the vehicle and their suspect, with the woman on the front passenger side, unharmed.
The follow up investigation revealed an alleged cache of weapons, including guns bullets, cross-bows, bear spray, smoke bombs and brass knuckles.
Evidence given during this week’s bail hearing can’t be reported, but it’s believed Butler has several people willing to keep him in line if he gets bail, or risk cash and prosecution if he doesn’t.
A decision on bail is expected later this afternoon.
