The Health Minister acknowledges significant changes in acute care delivery in the province.
NAPE President Jerry Earle says just 87 open hospital beds are available across the province, with many acute care facilities operating well above capacity.
John Haggie was responding to Opposition Leader David Brazil in the House of Assembly today.
He says government recognizes that there are extra patients on units and people in hallways, and they’re working on bringing those numbers down by working with health care unions including NAPE, CUPE, the NLMA and the RNU to help address those issues.
