A 24-year-old man has been charged with impaired driving after a car crash in Harbour Grace on Wednesday.

RCMP were called after a car left the road and ended up in a ditch. When police arrived the driver had left the scene, but was discovered a short while later showing signs of impairment.

The man was arrested and provided breath samples that were more than two and half times the legal limit.

The accused is scheduled to appear in court at a later date on charges of impaired. His licence was suspended and the car was seized and impounded.
