Talks between the City of Mount Pearl and its municipal workers have reached an impasse.
CUPE Local 2099, which represents the workers, says it has filed a request for the assistance of a conciliation officer with the Newfoundland and Labrador Labour Board.
The union says the employer is “demanding major concessions” and they’ve seen little movement on multiple issues.
The round of bargaining began March 22, with the two sides meeting 12 times to negotiate.
The current agreement is set to expire at the end of June.
