The provincial government is cutting back on the number of times its COVID dashboard is updated.
The dashboard, which replaced the daily government releases and regular live briefings during COVID’s peak, is typically updated on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Janice Fitzgerald says that the update schedule is now being cut back to once a week, which will take place each Wednesday.
She says that will change if they start to see sudden changes in incidents or something else happening in terms of new variants. With the incidence of new COVID cases dropping, they thought this was a good time to report once weekly.
