The capital city’s animal shelter will be closed to the public for a few days this week.

The Humane Services Animal Care and Adoption Centre at 81 Higgins Line will be closed for cleaning, disinfection and staff training today through to Wednesday.

Disease control and disinfection are essential to maintaining the health and well-being of animals housed at the shelter according to city staff.

Officials will still be available for emergencies as they occur.
