It was a long time coming but the two new nursing homes in central Newfoundland are finally going to open their doors.
The facilities, located in Gander and Grand Falls-Windsor, were plagued with troubles from the construction stage to the staffing stage.
Central Health says the two long-term care homes will officially open next Wednesday. Residents and their families will be contacted by the health authority.
