The province is closing several forest access roads in Labrador as the spring thaw kicks in.
As of Tuesday, some access roads in the Happy Valley-Goose Bay area will be closed to vehicles until further notice, including the South Branch road, Goose River road, Grove’s Point access road, and the Grand Lake access road system at the point-8 kilometer mark, at the second gate.
Officials say temporary closures at this time of year are necessary to protect forest access roads from damage during the spring thaw.
The roads will, however, remain open for ATV use.
