Two water bombers had to be called in to help fire crews battle a brush fire in Carbonear.
Around 2:30 p.m. Friday, the Carbonear Volunteer Fire Department battled a significant blaze that had broken out in the Flatrock area. Water bombers had to make multiple passes.
No injuries have been reported, however, a caller to the VOCM Newsroom says at least one cabin was lost in the blaze.
With help from neighbouring fire departments from Victoria and Salmon Cove-Perry’s Cove, as well as Forest Fire Technicians from the Department of Natural Resources, the fire was extinguished.
