The MHA for Mount Pearl-Southlands has what he says is the first tangible evidence of an investigation taking place at Elections NL.
Media first began receiving information about the report a few weeks ago. The report is said to be about allegations of bullying and harassment.
Interim PC Leader David Brazil tried to ask a question about it in the House of Assembly last week, but was ruled out of order on the matter by Speaker Derek Bennett.
There has been no official confirmation that there was an investigation, or if a report exists. However, MHA Paul Lane says he was speaking with one of the persons questioned during the investigation, who provided him with a copy of the summons they received from the citizen’s representative.
Lane maintains that he is “1,000 per cent sure” that the report exists, and now there is tangible evidence to back that up.
Now that “the cat’s out of the bag” Lane wants government to release the report when the House of Assembly opens next week.
