The town of Labrador City has had to cancel its full-day summer program for this year due to a labour shortage.
The town says there is a tough labour market with students this year, they were unable to fulfill the complement required to run such a program.
In an effort to try to overcome the problem, they extended the application deadline and opened the age group for the positions, but were still unable to get the number of students required.
The town is asking for feedback on how to overcome the situation in the future. Emails can be sent to recreation@labradorcity.ca.
In the meantime, they say they will be doing their best to provide pop-up events over the summer for primary and elementary school kids.
