The provincial government is lifting its vaccine mandate as of June 1st.
That means 30 core government workers currently on leave because they are not fully vaccinated will be eligible to return to work at that time.
The mandate was introduced in December of 2021 requiring all service providers and employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have a medically-approved exemption.
That was before the Omicron variant, which has proven to be highly transmissible, but relatively mild compared to previous variants.
The province announced this week that it is lifting the mandate due to current epidemiology.
But officials say the COVID situation in the province will be continually monitored and changes may be made if necessary.
