Work is underway to dredge accumulated gravel and debris from the head of Quidi Vidi Lake in St. John’s.
Coady Construction and Excavating Limited will remove silt, gravel and debris from the area of the lake near Carnell and Clancey drives. The city says the work will help reduce the impact on recreational boating on the lake.
Pedestrians who use the popular walking trail will be diverted to the sidewalk along Carnell Drive while work is underway. Vehicle traffic will not be affected, although those in the area can expect some disruptions as the work proceeds.
The clean-up activity is expected to be completed by mid-June.
