The Port of Argentia is encouraged by a number of recent announcements that will get things humming for the next few years.

Cenovus has announced the resumption of its West White Rose project, and the port is now working on a major wind project with Pattern Energy Group.

Chair of the Board of Directors with the Port of Argentia, Wayne Power, calls the wind energy project exciting news for the area.

He says the port has been working with those involved in wind energy for years, bringing discussions to the next step with this week’s Option to Lease agreement. Power says the development of the wind energy project will ultimately result in the production of green hydrogen for export to the European market.
