Two prominent bowlers from this province were inducted into the Canadian 5 Pin Bowlers’ Association Hall of Fame.
Terry Blake of Corner Brook was inducted in the player’s division, class of 2021. The ceremony was delayed last year due to COVID-19.
Bob Osborne of Middle Cove was posthumously inducted in the player’s division, class of 2022.
Blake and Osborne are the province’s first two entries into the Hall of Fame.
Terry Blake’s Career Highlights:
- 11 National Open appearances (5 team & 6 singles)
- 3 time Singles Champion
- 3 Open All Star selections
- Combined average of 259 over 188 games played at the Open
- Received MBAC 10-year participation award in 2007
- 3 time MBAC singles bronze medalist
- 4 appearances on TSN pins game
- High single game of 448
- Was named as one of the top 100 bowlers in Canada in 2009
Bob Osborne Career Highlights:
- 20 National Open appearances (19 team & 1 singles)
- 2013 Gold medal Men’s team, 3 silver and 1 bronze medal
- 1997 Men’s Team gold medal coach
- 1 Open All Star selection
- Combined average of 251 over 355 games played at the Open
- MBAC member for 20 plus years
- 4 or 5 appearances on TSN pins game and CBC
- Bowled 2 sanctioned Perfect Games – 1993, 2006
- Was named as one of the top 100 bowlers in Canada in 2009
