Most parts of the province are under a high risk for forest fires, according to the province’s fire hazard forecast.
Many parts of the province are experiencing their first doses of hot and humid summer weather, with temps outside the Avalon in the mid to upper 20s over the next couple of days for most.
Most of Central, the West Coast, and Labrador are now listed in the high risk category.
That means “fires may start easily, burn quickly, and challenge fire suppression efforts.”
The risk on the southwest coast is low, while the risk on the Avalon and the Burin Peninsula is moderate.
