Parks Canada is once again asking visitors to resist the temptation to feed the foxes and signs are being erected at the attraction as reminders.
Signal Hill is a popular spot from which to watch the whales and take in the view, but foxes that live around the landmark have become a popular attraction as well.
Parks Canada says wild animals that become food-conditioned and that are attracted to busy roads or parking lots looking for food, are prone to being hit by vehicles.
Animals that find food in public areas will continue to return, creating what Parks Canada calls unsafe and dangerous human-wildlife conflicts.
They’re asking people to resist the temptation of feeding foxes on Signal Hill for the benefit of the animals.
Parks Canada has the authority to charge and issue fines to people found in violation of the Canada National Parks Act which makes it illegal to feed, disturb or touch any wild animal in any national park or national historic site.
