The Newfoundland Distillery Company is officially opening its brand new distillery and tasting room in Clarke’s Beach two and a half years after they first opened.
The distillery has been producing vodkas, gins and rums—and winning awards for their products—since 2017.
The company suffered a major setback in 2018, when there was an explosion in one of its stills, sending two people to hospital.
The operation bounced back, with a new distillery and tasting room that opened in 2020.
But then COVID hit.
The company pivoted to help produce hand sanitizer when the call was made shortly after the start of the pandemic and has since expanded its product line to whiskey.
Clarke’s Beach Mayor Betty Moore will be on hand today at 4:00 p.m. for the official opening of the new distillery and tasting room, two and a half years after they first opened.
