One of the finest private art collections in the country is now on display at The Rooms.
The Sobey Family art collection, featuring 170 works by some of the country’s leading artists, is on display in St. John’s from now until January 22nd, 2023.
Works include a wide range of pieces from the Group of Seven to trailblazing Indigenous artists.
Kate Wolforth of The Rooms says it’s an exciting exhibition to coincide with Come Home Year celebrations.
She describes it as a complete Canadian art history course in one collection. It includes pieces from the Group of Seven, Emily Carr, Tom Thompson, Christopher Pratt, Alex Colville, and Kent Monkman.
