The Stephenville Airport Corporation has reached a deal to sell Stephenville Airport.
The corporation made a deal yesterday to sell the airport to Carl Dymond’s Greater NL Partnership.
While no details of the sale are currently available, Dymond says they’re looking at revitalizing lighting on the runway as soon as possible, and then will continue working on a master plan that has been in the workers for years now.
Dymond says their classification puts them in a unique position in the province.
He says they are one of the only privately-owned “class other” airports in the world, meaning they have a niche market. He says with Sunwing coming in weekly and working with low cost carriers, they are hoping to attract more activity.
