The former Director of the Inclusion Choir and recent recipient of the Order of Newfoundland and Labrador passed away earlier this month.

Helen Murphy passed away June 23rd at the age of 76.

Murphy was the recipient of a number of awards and honours for her dedicated work involving social justice and inclusion including the Pitcher Plant Award, the YWCA Women of Distinction Award, the Building Healthy Communities Volunteer award and the Order of Newfoundland and Labrador earlier this year.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Donations in her memory are being accepted for the Stella’s Circle Inclusion Choir.
