Police turned out at the Bay St. George POWWOW in Flat Bay on the weekend to take part in the festivities.
RCMP Inspector Gerard Webb and Sergeant Terry Alexander, both of whom are Indigenous, were on hand to receive the Aboriginal War Veterans Millennium Medal from Qalipu First Nations’ Chief Brendan Mitchell.
The POWWOW, which was held under sunny skies, featured traditional song, dance and food.
