A music producer who has worked with some of the world’s top performers is back in Newfoundland exploring his deep roots in Trinity Bay and having a first look at his new real estate purchase.
Grammy Award-winning producer Greg Wells arrived in Winterton Thursday with members of his immediate family to attend the Green Family Reunion.
One of the things he’s most looking forward to over the next three days is visiting the resettled community of Thoroughfare, where his grandmother was born.
A resident of Winterton has offered to take him across the bay to visit the community which he last visited as a small boy.
Wells will also have a chance to see first-hand his new purchase, the old St. Luke’s Anglican Church which is already booked for five weddings and a baptism. Wells says he intends to keep the church available to the community and hopes to showcase local talent as well.
Music concerts, live theatre, and art exhibits are among the things he envisions for the church building, as well as music workshops featuring local talent.
Wells plans to come back to Winterton this fall for a longer visit.
