A man accused of killing a woman in downtown St. John’s in December has been committed to stand trial.
21-year-old David Quirke is charged with second-degree murder in the death of 42-year-old Rayna Dove.
The homicide occurred two days after Christmas in a multi-unit house on Cookstown Road.
The matter was sent to trial following a three-day preliminary inquiry in provincial court, with a judge ruling there is enough evidence to proceed.
Much of that evidence, including audio and video from the scene on December 27, is banned from publication.
Quirke is scheduled to be arraigned in Supreme Court in the fall when he will also formally enter his plea.
