The CEO of Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro will head up the Churchill River Energy Analysis Team following the recent resignation of Brendan Paddick.
Energy Minister Andrew Parsons says the Analysis Team will continue the work of the Rate Mitigation Team that was led by Paddick.
They’ll be doing an analysis of the opportunities on the Churchill River, says Parsons, including the Upper Churchill, Gull Island and Muskrat Falls, and will be working in tandem with the 2041 Churchill River Management Expert Panel
The Opposition raised questions about Paddick’s participation on the analysis team—the existence of which was only revealed through an Access to Information request by AllNewfoundlandLabrador last month.
The Opposition asked whether Paddick was in a Conflict of Interest, to which the Premier responded that Paddick would know whether he was in a conflict or not.
Paddick has since resigned from the team.
