The Victoria Heritage Village, an assembly of buildings highlighting traditional outport life, is open for the summer season with a number of new structures for visitors to explore.
Heritage Committee member Vince Butt says this year they’re proud to show off their one-room schoolhouse, barber shop, and fire hall complete with an old pumper truck.
That adds to the traditional home, church, and grocery store bringing the total number of buildings to 17.
Butt says they also have a couple of residents for people to visit.
Their goat Theodore has been joined by a new goat, Pebbles, named by the grade 4 students of nearby Persalvic Elementary, plus Jack their Newfoundland Pony.
The Victoria Heritage Village is located just off the main highway, known as “The Neck” in Victoria.
