The RNC are providing some safety tips to help people protect themselves when socializing in public.
Police say that when socializing with groups of unknown people, there is an increased chance of ingesting a drug.
Symptoms include vomiting, confusion, disorientation, loss of consciousness, impaired motor function, slurred speech, and dizziness.
Police encourage people to socialize in a group of trusted friends, to watch their drinks being made, to not leave drinks unattended, to not drink from punch bowls, and to plan a safe way to get home by only using registered taxi cabs or friends and family.
