The province is warning that air quality in Central Newfoundland is expected to get worse tomorrow.
The forecast predicts a change in wind direction, meaning more smoke will be on its way to Grand Falls-Windsor, Bishop’s Falls and Botwood overnight between 2:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m on Friday.
Current projections do not indicate smoke will be as intense as it has been previously.
While there is still no required evacuation order at this time, government are recommending people stay inside. Individuals at a higher risk of health problems can leave on their own or by using one of four buses provided to the congregate shelter in Deer Lake. They will be running between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. in Bishop’s Falls, Grand Falls-Windsor, and Botwood.
