The largest inclusive playground in the city officially opens this morning at Mundy Pond Park.
The latest project of the Candian Tire Jumpstart program welcomes kids of all abilities, including those with physical, cognitive and sensory impairment.
The 11,000-square-foot space also includes rides re-named and redesigned for better access, such as the We-Saw and We-Go-Round.

Mayor Danny Breen couldn’t say enough about the million-dollar gift from the Canadian Tire charity.
But he had a little competition along the way.
He was describing some of the features of the playground when he found himself in an inadvertent shouting match with one of the children playing behind him. After some brief comic relief, Breen quipped that it was just like a council meeting.
The Jumpstart playground, the tenth of its kind in Canada, is located next to the Mundy Pond softball field, skate park, dog park, soccer pitch, and the new community centre that will replace the Mews Centre in the fall of 2023.
