The City of Corner Brook has awarded a $10-million contract for the total reconstruction of Mount Bernard Avenue.
Marine Contractors was the sole, successful bidder for the work, which will see a complete tear-up and rehab of the major thoroughfare.
It will include the replacement of storm sewer piping, water mains, manholes and catch basins, as well as new curb, gutter, sidewalk and asphalt.
As well, all homes in the area will see new water and sewer laterals installed to their property boundaries, with connection established to the new mains.
The city says existing infrastructure will be maintained during the course of the work with diversion of water and sewer where necessary.
