Marble Mountain is moving to shed its reputation as a one-trick, one-season pony.
The west coast ski resort had one of its best winters for snowfall and conditions this past year.
But the operators believe they’ll have to diversity and become a year-round attraction if they want to thrive and survive.
Mountain biking has quickly taken off on the hill, but they’re also eyeing other endeavors such as frisbee golf, to name just one.
Marketing manager Dustin Parsons says they’re open to hearing from anyone with an idea for the hill.
He says Marble can only do so much on its own, which is what has held it back from becoming a four-season resort over the years. Parsons says a more open philosophy has been adopted which invites input from any group that believes the hill can be a good fit for their sport or activity.
Meanwhile, Parsons says despite mechanical issues with ski lifts this past year, he expects all to be operational by the fall and winter.
