A veritable who’s-who of German industry will be on hand in Stephenville tomorrow as German Chancellor Olaf Scholz joins Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for what’s being called a historic accord to develop green hydrogen on the Port au Port Peninsula.
World Energy’s GH2 project will produce so-called green energy for transport to Germany.
Among the long list of German corporate leaders in attendance at tomorrow’s event are Werner Baumann the CEO of Bayer, Dr. Christian Bruch, the President and CEO of Siemens Energy, and the CEOs of Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz.
Tomorrow’s event is being called the largest gathering of its type ever assembled and is being touted as the birth of an important new industry.
The Qalipu First Nation, the Miawpukek First Nation and other local Indigenous communities are also participating.
