National Defence Minister Anita Anand is one of the many federal representatives in the province today for the accord signing in Stephenville, and yesterday she made a stop in the capital for a meeting with Premier Andrew Furey.
Anand says she had a “great” meeting with the Premier. She says they discussed how NORAD modernization can create jobs and economic growth across the nation, as well as the assistance provided by the Canadian Armed Forces during the wildfires in Central.
During Anand’s stop in St. John’s she also visited local innovators, toured The Rooms, and spoke with Armed Forces recruiters.
Premier @FureyAndrew and I just finished a great meeting in St. John's. We discussed how NORAD modernization will create jobs and economic growth across Canada, and we addressed the important assistance provided by @CanadianForces members in response to wildfires in the province. pic.twitter.com/qENtGNz323
