Burin Peninsula RCMP handed out some 120 “tickets” this summer to children who were caught in the act of being kind.
Constable Graeme Brown initiated the positive ticketing program with the support of the town of Marystown, and local businesses including Mary Brown’s, McDonald’s, Subway and Tim Horton’s.
Officers say they were moved by the kids’ reactions when they handed out tickets to redeem a treat.
RCMP say it’s all part of efforts to foster positive relationships through community policing.
