Members of the Corner Brook Fire Department made quick work of a dramatic fire at the Corner Brook Plaza earlier this afternoon.
Corner Brook Fire Chief Derek Simmons says the driver of a vehicle, who was turning near a loading bay at the mall, heard a “pop” and noticed smoke coming from the bonnet.
She got out of the car, but by the time the fire department had arrived, the fire had spread to the foam bumpers around the loading bay.
There were no injuries and the fire was doused before it spread into the mall.
