The brother of Terry Fox visited the province for the first time in five years last week.
Fred Fox was in St. John’s to mark the switch back to an in-person event for the 42nd Annual Terry Fox Run. The fundraiser has been virtual since the beginning of the pandemic.
Fox visited the Mile Zero monument, speaking to a group of students from Bishop Feild Elementary about Terry and his legacy.
Fox says whenever he’s in the province, he hears many personal stories of Terry from 42 years ago.
He says he’s met people who were in St. John’s for the start and from smaller communities as Terry made his way across the province. He says Newfoundland and Labrador plays a significant role in Terry’s legacy.
The Terry Fox Run takes place on September 18.
