Central Health has finished reviewing the mammography images of 3,087 patients with a total of nine requiring further follow-up.
For those patients whose images have shown potential diagnostic discrepancies or differing interpretations, Central Health is reaching out to their primary health care provider, contacting the patient by phone. and following up with a letter.
The review was prompted by the use of 3-megapixel monitors instead of the standard 5-megapixel monitors.
Patients whose images do not show potential diagnostic discrepancies will receive a letter from Central Health.

The three other regional health authorities will give an update on their reviews on Thursday.
